Screening/prevention (IGeL)

Individual health services (IGeL) can be a useful addition to the services reimbursed by law, or can be utilised as an independent preventive and counselling service.

The prevention of diseases (e.g. stroke) is a particular concern of our practice. In the case of strokes in particular, for example, ultrasound of the vessels supplying the brain can be used to assess the individual risk of stroke.

We offer the following individual health services (IGeL):

• Assessment of the individual stroke risk
• Ultrasound diagnostics/duplex sonography of the vessels supplying the brain (e.g. stroke prevention)
• Clarification of memory disorders (exclusion of dementia)
• EEG (brain wave measurement)
• Acupuncture, e.g. for pain
• Laboratory tests for special issues (e.g. vascular risk factors, vitamin and trace element status)

Private health insurance companies usually cover the costs in full once a year. We can only offer these examinations to patients with statutory health insurance as an individual health service (IGeL). At the end, you will receive a detailed invoice in accordance with the GOÄ (scale of fees for doctors).
